LED strips are popular because they are versatile, atmospheric, and relatively easy to install. Yet, in practice, things often go wrong. Often, this is not due to the strip itself, but to the way it is connected. With proper preparation, you can avoid a lot of frustration.
1. Choosing the wrong power supply
The most common mistake is choosing a power supply that does not match the voltage or wattage of the LED strip. A 12V strip needs a 12V power supply, and a 24V strip needs a 24V power supply. In addition, the power supply must provide sufficient wattage.

The last mistake is actually the most important: starting without a plan. First, measure the length, decide where the power supply will go, think about how you will switch or dim, and consider how you want to finish the strip neatly.
